Spanning the Atlantic – Dynamysk Provides International Project Support on FPSO Upgrade

When a large energy company needed a project team on the ground in Spain on short notice to assist with a major upgrade project on one of their ships and get it ready to sail back across the Atlantic Ocean to Newfoundland, they turned to Dynamysk.

The ship was a large floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, and was being upgraded to extend its lifespan. It was dry docked in Spain to have a significant portion of the work completed before being returned to Canada.

As the drydock work was nearing completion, additional resources were needed within a very tight timeframe in order to get the ship ready to sail. Dynamysk was asked to provide a team of 12 qualified instrumentation technicians to assist with the final phase of the project. Due to previous projects we had completed for the client, they had every confidence that we would be able to deliver the team they needed with in the timeframe they specified, and we did. Within seven days of receiving the request from the client, we had a crew with the required qualifications assembled, all travel paperwork was in order, and the first few members of the crew were on their way to Spain.

Dynamysk was also tasked with supervising a critical construction job that need to be completed before the ship sailed, which our team did with the help of translation apps to assist them in communicating in Spanish with the local tradespeople on the job.

Two months later, once the ship was ready to set sail, five members of the Dynamysk team were asked to join the crew on the ship to provide additional maintenance support as the ship made its way back across the Atlantic to home waters, where the final upgrade work was to be completed.

Earlier this month, Dynamysk received a request for another crew to assist with commissioning in Newfoundland. Once again, we assembled the right team for the job, and that work is currently underway.

If you would like to discuss how Dynamysk can provide support on your next project, please reach out to us by email at info@dynamysk.com or by phone at 403-513-4100 or for a discussion.

Dynamysk gives back with the YYC Tech Gives SPAM Cup Competition

For many of us, Christmas is a time of joy, spending time with loved ones and reflecting on the many good things in our lives. But for families in need, it can be a very different story.

This year, the team at Dynamysk chose to share with those less fortunate by supporting the YYC Tech Gives SPAM Cup.

YYC Tech Gives is a volunteer-driven organization founded in 2010, comprised of a group of more than 50 tech companies in Calgary who come together with various events throughout the year to give back to the local community.

During the annual SPAM Cup competition, they partner with The Calgary Food Bank to raise funds, gather food and baby item donations, and provide volunteers to sort donations. The Cup encourages friendly competition across The Calgary Food Bank’s three pillars of giving: time, money, and food, with points awarded in each category and the SPAM Cup awarded to the winning company during the final food sorting competition in December.

The challenge was set, and Dynamysk delivered in a big way! In total, together with corporate donation matching, we collected a total of $1500 for the food bank, in addition to 82 pounds of baby items and 85 pounds of food! In addition, staff donated 32.5 hours of volunteer time to help sort food items at the food bank.

Dynamysk took 5th place out of a total of 21 participating companies, but more importantly we are proud to have helped make this Christmas just a little bit brighter for those who need it most.

From our families to yours, we wish everyone a warm and happy holiday season filled with love and laughter, and a healthy and prosperous new year.

Announcing the new IOS app for RFO Central

Using paper checklists when you are commissioning a project is inefficient at best, and, at worst, can lead to incomplete documentation without you even being aware.

RFO Central, Dynamysk’s powerful cloud-based completions software, is now available as an IOS app, in addition to the existing Android app, allowing you to complete checklists digitally, either on- or off-line, and easily attach photos as part of the documentation process.

Everything is synced back to RFO Central so the dashboard and reports are always up to date and at your fingertips.

Watch the video below to see the RFO Central IOS app in action, and contact us if you’d like to see a full demo, or learn more about RFO Central.

New Management Dashboard in RFO Central Provides Instant, Real-time Visibility

Managing a completions project is a complex undertaking. A medium sized project can result in tens of thousands of equipment tags and associated documents. You need visibility, at a glance, to verify you’re on track for start up, and reliable completions software will give you that visibility.

RFO Central, Dynamysk’s powerful cloud-based completions software now includes a full management dashboard that allows you to easily keep tabs on the status progress of your project, in real-time, without needing to wade through detailed lists of documents.

Watch the video below to see the new Management Dashboard in action, and contact us if you’d like to learn more about using RFO Central on your next project.

Asset Data Capture with RFO Central Fills the Gaps in Your MMS

Your maintenance management software is critically important to your operations, and you’ve invested a lot in it. But much of the asset data you need to make the system really valuable just isn’t there.

RFO Central, Dynamysk’s powerful cloud-based completions software, provides a streamlined way to capture critical asset data in the field to fill the gaps in your maintenance management software, ensuring seamless data continuity and facilitating greater efficiency in operations and maintenance. Simply by arming your field teams with RFO Central as they complete a turnaround, the data points you need can be captured without any additional time or effort.

New Feature Announcement: Easily Import Complete Tag Databases into RFO Central

RFO Central, Dynamysk’s powerful, cloud-based completions software, is constantly being updated with new features, in response to requests and requirements from our customers.

The ability to quickly populate the database by importing asset and tag data from other software packages has always been available, but previously it was only accessible through our support team.

We are pleased to announce that RFO Central now includes the ability for users to perform this import function themselves, via a simple Excel spreadsheet. Checklists are automatically assigned to each tag as they are imported, based on a workflow matrix you define, making it even faster and easier to get your project underway.

Watch the video below to see the import feature in action, and contact us if you’d like to learn more about using RFO Central on your next project.
